Repertoire & Violins
I play a mix of classical, kiwiana, jazz, folk/celtic and popular music on my violins.
If you have any special requests, please let me know and I will see what I can come up with for my set.
As I play both acoustic and electric violins, I can moderate my set list to vibe with the event and the attendees on the day.
Great for the smaller venue/traditional event - I have a 1935 Kiwi made acoustic violin that has a beautiful rounded, deep tone that lends itself well to most venues. I can mic this up for a bit of extra volume in larger areas. This fiddle suits my broader taste in music and especially compliments my playing style.
For a mid-sized venue/modern event, my Zeta Strados 4 string electric violin is great for projecting volume across a larger area and is quite a focal point for its contemporary design.
A Mark Woods 6 string Viper is my newest addition to my axe collection, this fiddle can really bring the house down with its warm Barbera bridge and flying V shape. It's quite the show stopper...
A YouTube page of my playing is in development and coming soon.
Celtic, Traditional and Folk Music
I do love a good gig and a reel. I have played in several Irish bands over the years. I play many traditional Irish and several Scottish traditional and modern tunes as well as a selection of numbers from River Dance and Lord of the Dance.
Classical Music and Classical Crossover
In my repertoire is a selection of movements from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Spring and Winter. I love playing Bach and am comfortable playing the popular Wedding Classics to walk the bride up and down the Aisle.
As I have been a session musician and played in many musicals, I also play many melodies from your favourite musicals.
Contemporary and Bowed Pop
Modern pop music is the backdrop of our lives, I play many modern songs from Lady Gaga, Elton John, Robbie Williams, Taylor Swift and many more – if there’s a song you like, just ask and I’ll see if I can play it.
OST music from games such as Echochrome (a beautiful string quartet plays throughout this game), Tetris and many other Millennial anthems have featured in my repertoire.
